Meet The Horses

Titus

Titus, whose name means “title of honor,” joined Crossfire Ranch in 2025 as a rescued horse, adopted by Paige, one of our dedicated board members. He’s a curious and quick learner, with a gentle spirit that captured our hearts almost immediately.

A young Percheron and Friesian Sport Horse cross, Titus is destined to grow into a magnificent and powerful presence. Though he won’t be ready to carry riders for several years, he’s already thriving in the care and attention he receives. Titus delights in gettig attention and is learning all things from the ground up.  We’re grateful to watch Titus’s journey unfold as he grows stronger and more confident with each passing day.

Randy

Randy joined us at Crossfire Ranch in April 2025. Like many horses, his journey has been full of twists and turns. He was originally rescued by a local organization and then adopted. After some time with his adopter, he was returned when she could no longer care for him due to her own health challenges. It was then that Pamella—a friend & partner of the ranch—gifted Randy to us. She named him in honor of her late husband and his deep love for horses, making Randy’s arrival even more meaningful.

Since coming to the ranch, Randy has settled in beautifully. He’s quickly become the “everybody’s buddy” horse in the herd—steady, gentle, and full of quiet kindness. His calm presence and open-hearted nature continue to unfold with each passing day. Randy’s story has already touched many hearts, and we are deeply grateful that his path has led him here.

Abby

Abby, a beautiful and sturdy Percheron cross, joined the Crossfire Ranch herd in 2025. She is lovingly owned by Emma, one of our extraordinary ranch hands, and has quickly become a favorite among riders of all ages. With her large frame and kind, steady presence, Abby is the very definition of a gentle giant. She takes great care of those who ride her, offering a sense of calm and confidence with every step. It’s a joy to watch kids of all sizes climb into the saddle—often a little unsure at first—and then light up as their fears melt away. Abby has a special way of teaching us all the value of looking beyond appearances (in Abby’s case her sheer size!) to discover the quiet strength and sweetness within. Her impact is as big as her heart, and we’re so grateful to have her as part of our herd.

Lucy

Lucy, named after the brave and kind-hearted Lucy Pevensie from The Chronicles of Narnia, is a compact little lady with a heart full of questions. She’s both curious and cautious—a thoughtful observer of the world around her.

Lucy became part of the Crossfire Ranch herd in the summer of 2024 and has quickly won over a growing number of admirers. Her striking blue eyes seem to capture everyone’s attention and invite connection. As Lucy has settled in we’ve learned she loves trail rides! Her curiousity can draw her close to find out what kind of shenanigans might be going on.

Jasper

Jasper holds a special place in our hearts as the original horse of Crossfire Ranch. A big chestnut with a bold blaze down his face, Jasper is a comical blend of Belgian strength and Arabian spirit. His sturdy build and kind eyes make him as comforting to be around as he is handsome to behold.

With a unique mix of calm steadiness and playful mischief, Jasper brings both reassurance and lighthearted energy to those around him. True to his curious nature, he can be a bit of a goof—full of toddler-like antics that keep us smiling. If left to his own devices, he might just lead an unsuspecting rider on an impromptu adventure, happily exploring wherever his feet decide to go.

Jasper has patience to spare and loves the open trail and a good run.

Tigg’r

Tigg’r is a spicy miniature grullo paing, born in 2011. His smoky gray and bold white patches often draw attention. He became part of the Crossfire Ranch family in the summer of 2023 as one half of an adopted mini duo. His story is one of neglect. Tigg’r was rescued by his previous family, having been found emanciated to the point of being able to be picked up. This little guy is so resilient though and found purpose in helping Spirit, his new companion, how to live in more freedom.

Tigg’r still exhibits scars of his past, they are not visual but emotional. He shys easily, and has a fairly quick flight response. Yet, he loves to run and play with anyone willing to do so…a little treat in one’s pocket will surely keep his attention.

Though his body is small, this little guy lives very big! Tigg’r’s an instigator with the big horses…he can often be seen offering a playful nip to rouse another to join in some jovial shenanigans.

Spirit

Spirit is a Paint miniature horse, born in 2011. With her coat of bold patches and her gentle, soulful eyes, she became part of the Crossfire Ranch family in the summer of 2023 as one half of an adopted mini duo. Spirit was previously rescued  from the deep mire of a stall that she had been in for far too long, and was unable to raise her head. She was paired with Tigg’r, a new pasture and stall mate, who helped her find hope and freedom.

Spirit is a no nonsense little lady though she’s kind and often patient, she will  unassumingly let it be known when she has an opinion differing from another’s.  Spirit’s strength is in just simply being who she is.

Prince

Never let age hold you back! Prince is a 1995 Polish Arabian sorrel. He brings a calm, knowing presence to the ranch that his years of experience have gifted him. Prince has been in the show world, served as a lesson horse and now in his retirement years as a door opener…heart doors.

This sage of a horse still loves to give the lightest of riders a walk-about the arena or join in a jaunt up the hills. He is the horse who seems to miss his people when there are breaks in routine. Though these years require extra care, he is worth his weight in gold as he continues to be a steady and meaningful part of the heart of Crossfire Ranch.  What an honor to walk alongside him in this season of his life.
